From the standpoint of subject matter, animals have been a recurring motif in Niladri's works. The naturalist and conservationist in him has been always fascinated with the natural world, and he's taken every opportunity to not only bring them to life but also raise awareness about the great diversity of flora and fauna on our planet.​
